British Gas EnergySmart Energy Monitor - Battery Replacement

Has anyone successfully replaced the battery in the Sensor unit for the British Gas EnergySmart Enegry Monitor device, and got the thing working again afterwards?

I've bought a brand new CR2 battery and installed it, but the green LED on the sensor is now flashing constantly, and the display unit is not registering anything. I just get flashing dashes across the display - the same as when the sensor it out of range.

The unit was working perfectly until the battery expired, so I'm pretty sure nothing is actually faulty. I'm guessing the sensor and the display unit just need to be "paired" again, but I can't see any way to achieve this.

Thanks in advance!
