Post office insurance

My mum askd for a quote for some car insurance from the Post office and the quote they gave her was reasonable so she said "yes ok ill have the insurance" and a payment was taken from her bank, a few days later she thought shed call her current provider to see if they would match it or even beat it which the current provider did so she contacted the post office to say "sorry i dont want the insurance now as ive found it cheaper elsewere" and was told the money would be in back in her account, last week when she got her bank statement she realised that the post office had taken payment when she had phoned up to say no she didnt want the insurance, she phoned up the post office to complain that they had taken payment when she said she didnt want the insurance, the post office said "ok thats fine but we need to send out a form for you to sign" my mum was ok with that but the form has arrived and shes phoned up once asking where the form is and its annoying her that they have her money
is there anything she can say to them to make it a speedier process
thanks

not really to be honnest no, the only think you could do is read their T&C's and see if it stipulates any particular amount of time on there.
But she will not get back all the money as the insurance will have been valid for a certain amount of time as im sure this all couldnt have happened in such a small period of time. They may charge you a cancelation fee and or administration fees.0 -
