Charges for using my debt card abroad

I was wondering if I would stand any chance at getting the bank charges back from my bank from using my debt card aboard?
Santander's charges seem to be extreme and they are obviously making a huge profit.
Thank you in advance

Santander make their charges very clear so no, i'm not sure why you think they'd refund these to you.0

If you thought the charges were extreme why on earth did you choose to use the service?0

Debit cards are often the most expensive way to spend abroad, regardless of bank. I don't think you have any chance to get any money back, unless they did not comply with their published charges.
Might be worth reading this before your next trip, and get ready with the right sort of plastic.
If you go to Spain, incl Balearics and Canaries, there's no better card than your Santander debit card, though, as they don't charge any fees there.0 -

Yes but Santander don't offer the Zero account anymore!!
I use my Santander debit card when in Spain as they don't charge any fee's for using it.
You should have looked at the best and cheapest way to have paid for items in the country that you were visiting, Oh and no Santander won't give you back the currency conversion fee, they clearly tell you what they are and you chose to accept them by using your card!!Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -

Why would someone post on a thread and then not bother to come back and comment on the answers?0

I'm guessing the answer is one of the following:
A) They didn't like the answers
They were attempting to troll
C) They are making a huge profit and don't have time0
