I tried to get my sky bill down today, as with the increase it will be over £79.00 for broadband line rental anytime calls and just sky sports. I told them about the EE offer ( Martins tips 2 weeks ago) but the lady at Sky said, tough ! We own EE so you won't get a cheap deal there for BB and phone.
So us OAPs have little enough to while away our long hours of winter and it looks like we won't have Sky TV. Now

EE is a joint venture between Deustche Telekom (A German entity) and Orange S.A. (A French entity).
It is going to take a hell of an effort for Sky to buy a controlling stake in EE!This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I imagine she is probably getting confused with the O2 broadband that Sky took over, but even then Sky don't 'own' O2!0

I think the call centre person thought the OP said 'BE', whose contracts, like O2's Sky have adopted/attempted to adopt.0

If anyone is buying EE its Vodafone .
They already had.
Orange were bought by Mannesmann. Vodafone then bought Mannesmann getting Orange in total. The EU decided that this was not good for competition, so were told to sell off Orange.
France Telecom bought it, and then a merger with T-Mobile created EE. I think Vodafone have BTDT, so not a chance.0
