Faulty Samsung Camera

Hi,
I had a new Samsung galaxy camera for xmas from curry's. The camera has only had light use and about 6 weeks ago the flash blew up.
I took the camera back to currys along with my receipt and they said it would have to go to be fixed. I collected it about 2 weeks ago and I have only just come to use it and found it has scratches and chips all over it (crack on the screen and lense!!!!) and now the flash pops up but won't go back down again!
am I within my rights to now ask for a replacement or my money back? I do not want it fixing again as I my partner paid good money for it and I am stuck with faulty goods!
I do not live near curry's so I am wasting time and petrol travelling to take it back and collect it when they have 'fixed' it.

No, they will try to repair it again. Their policy generally allows for three repairs before they consider other options.
I mean, it's worth asking - and you are within your rights to - but they are also within their rights to refuse.
It may be worth a call/e-mail/tweet to their KnowHow team regarding the petrol, as they should give you some compensation for this. Alternatively, they may collect (but I'm not sure that they do this for items as small as a camera).0
