I use a VoIP phone at home which costs £6.99 for 500 UK national land/mobile minutes and a bolt-on for international calls. For example, with Zone 1 (which includes Spain) bolt-on for £7.50/mo, I get 1000 (thousand) minutes. But there is an upfront cost to get the VoIP phone though.

If I am not at home, I use a Voip App on my android phone which costs 0.011£ to Spanish landline and 0.079 £ for Spanish mobile.
