123-reg actually charge more for .xyz domains than EuroDNS. Also while looking at 123-reg's pricelist, they are charging more for the new .uk domains than what they are for .co.uk/.org.uk/.me.uk when the actual wholesale price from Nominet is exactly the same. If that isn't a rip off, I don't know what is.0 -
Have you got a link for that rate? All I can find are 2+ rates which are multiples of the annual rate
I just used the link in post 1, entered the a name for a domain, one of the ones I used was "noddy" and in the results page it said noddy.xyz as $13.61 per year and the drop down price list only contained a price for 1 year.
A quick check on xe showed that $13.61 was a couple of pence short of £8.0 -

No, just for registering domain names.0 -

Just tried it on one of my domains and got to the "confirm transfer" bit and the cost was zero.0 -

What about eurodns, they charge
£38.15 for noddy.care,
£63.58 for noddy.claims,
£123.97 for noddy.credit
£187.55 for noddy.creditcard.
Swings and roundabouts, more popular things cost more than less popular things.
noddy.biz for 2 years
eurodns = £28.61
123 = £23.980 -

Well I followed the links to facebook and twitter on that page where they say "users vent their fury" but I couldn't find anyone venting their fury.
The screen shots were months old, and it loooks like they did introduce a charge then got rid of it.0 -

Swings & roundabouts indeed. Do you always troll all posts you reply to on this forum?
Can't you see that you have been contradicting yourself, everything you said in #3 is exactly the same with your favourite registrar, 123-reg.
EDIT: And the 4 examples above, 123-reg don't even sell, so what are your comparing!0 -

Not worth answering as you wouldn't understandDeleted_User wrote: »Can't you see that you have been contradicting yourself, everything you said in #3 is exactly the same with your favourite registrar, 123-reg.
I haven't contradicted myself, I made a comment on a deal. I would have said the same thing if it had been 123 who were offering the deal.
And fyi 123 are not my favourite registrar. They were the first ones I used, and as they are very easy to use and nothing has ever gone wrong with then for me I have stuck with them.
They are the only one I have ever used, and you can't have a favourite out of only one.Deleted_User wrote: »EDIT: And the 4 examples above, 123-reg don't even sell, so what are your comparing!
I thought that was very obvious. It was in direct reply to you saying
Then I point out that eurodns charge
£38.15 for noddy.care,
£63.58 for noddy.claims,
£123.97 for noddy.credit
£187.55 for noddy.creditcard.
Now what point do you think I am trying to make?0 -

So, you are saying 123 are ripping people off by charging more for one domain than another when both cost 123 the same.

You obviously don't know much about how the domain world works. Most of the fee is set by the actually registry that run each domain extension. The registry that runs .creditcard charge domain registrars (EuroDNS, 123-reg, etc) a higher wholesale fee than the registry responsible for .care. The actually markup for EuroDNS, 123-reg, et al, is probably around the same.0
