check your popla code is valid using this link...

    http://www.parkingcowboys.co.uk/popla-code-checker/

If it is not then demand a new one.

Then again it may be your web-browser that is causing the problem - I've heard that one or two do funny things to the POPLA code input. Suggest you try an alternative, explorer, mozilla etc.

POPLA website isn't recogising the verification code I was sent, annoyingly :(
Yes it will - change your browser and check you were not trying to 'add evidence' instead of 'appeal'. The code is a real one if the code checker linked by ezerscrooge shows it is. Don't stumble at this final hurdle and if you really cannot overcome the glitch tomorrow then print out the appeal with a header on every page showing the 10 digit code and your name, and staple it securely (not paper clip) to a fully completed POPLA form (download from the POPLA website or even the BPA website).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks all - I was using Firefox but will give it a go in Chrome tonight (I'm an Ubuntu user so Explorer isn't really an option unless I fire up a virtual machine).

I'm pretty certain it was the appeals form I was trying to use, but I'll go through it all again tonight and try to get it submitted. I checked the code on Prankster's site before to make sure it was valid, and it passed, but I'll see what happens tonight.

I've just re-entered my POPLA code on their site using Chrome and it's been accepted - phew!

So, word of warning to anyone else submitting online, Firefox may not submit your code properly and it won't be recognised. Chrome worked for me and I suspect Internet Explorer will probably be alright as well.

Thanks again for everyone's help. The appeal has now been fully submitted and we can sit back and see what happens.
