The official savings guide is very incomplete regarding best accounts, and it is also full of cash ISA mantra.

There's a more complete list of good interest paying accounts here: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/savings-loophole. This one only misses the 3% Bank Of Scotland Vantage accounts.

123 Santander, if you hold the maximum balance of 20k, you get £40 every month which £480 a year.

Then you can invest the other 15k in the 123 ISA. i think you have until the 1st of August and you get a 2% interest

The 123 bit is ok but the ISA bit is not the best interest payer. MSE have published a table with some accounts, and you can also have 3 Vantage accounts with the Bank Of Scotland, taking £5K each.

EDIT: Just seen colsten has already posted the same a few days ago, soz.
