    Morning all,

dumpling so sorry to hear about your loss, big hugs.

I've been missing for a few days and not managed to read so hope everyone is ok.
It's been mad busy with our visitors and family commitments. Anyway just back for a weekend in the Lakes, there were 19 of us sharing a house. We had a great time, not a cross word so I'm relieved.
Today we are off to Anfield. My brother wants to do the Liverpool tour. We are United fans but shall grit our teeth and bare it:D
Tomorrow we are off to York for they day and on Thursday the men are going fishing, whilst the girls to shopping. Topped off with a girly night in the evening, phew. It's been non stop. It's been lovely but I can't wait to get back to my normal routine.
We have had lots of lovely strawberries, the beans and mange tout are flowering and the salad leaves are flourishing.
Housework wise, I give up. I'm just tyding when I can and doing a bit more when I get an hour alone.
Better get in the shower, hugs to all the poorlies, I promise I will be back posting daily soon, bfn x

    Hi everyone,

    Dumpling, I'm so sorry.

It's a lovely day here, I'm off to Cambridge for the second part of my embroidery course until 1.00. Then I have to come home to wait for a delivery - we have a new shower enclosure arriving.

DD is in South-West France, visiting vineyards. DS back at work after a week off, he seems to have been bitten by the DIY bug at last, so their house is now ready for decorating downstairs. We'll go and help them this weekend.

I've finished the baby quilt I was making, I've got one more to quilt so I must start deciding on my next project.

    Have a good day.

Hi, I hope no one minds I've started the thread but I have to get something off my chest. My beautiful beautiful collie Sam was put to sleep a couple of hours ago as he had catastrophic liver and kidney failure. I just wanted to put it out here that he was the best dog a person could ever know, he was gentle, faithful and loving. He always knew when I wasn't well and used to sit for ages with his head in my lap so I could cuddle him and he never minded when I used to cry into his fur. I will miss him so much, we are all broken hearted so sleep well Sam, you were a Good Dog x

Im so sorry - I understand how you feel as I have the same relationship with my two. Love and hugs xxx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Morning all,
DUMPLING, I'm so sorry to hear your sad news and hope that happy memories will ease your pain. x

WM and BM on, going to do a stock take of the freezers, I hate doing that task, I'm hoping to find a gammon joint as we have company for the w/end and want to serve SC gammon in coke with new pots and salad. DH wants Lamb shanks for dinner again tonight, just as well I cooked 2 yesterday, he loved it, so only have to do pots and broccoli. I'm a lover of salad so that's me sorted.
Not much else happening today so I'll get me coat and wish you well.

    Morning...

Dumpling, so sorry to hear of your loss ((HUGS)) x

Nice & sunny day here today, just been and loaded the washing line up and the blooming thing snapped! So will have to nip and get a new one, It would happen on a day I have 3 loads to go out.

Also need to nip to the farm shop for some duck eggs, will have a look in the charity shop whilst there as it is only next door, then I'll be off to the carpet shop to get a replacement carpet for the bedroom, we went to have the one be bought from them a few weeks back laid last night, when it was unrolled it has what look like sun damage to it, so not happy but they have said they will replace it, although it won't be the same one cos they have now discontinued it :(

Hope everyone has a lovely day x

If the shop has an account with the manufacturer (they might not, it might be a wholesaler), ask them to ring and check if they have any left in their warehouse. Also, if the shop is an independent, they often have good relationships with other local independents and might try and get some for you that way.

    Afternoon all,

Dumpling, so sorry to hear of your loss. I cant bear the thought of losing my 'Girls' but I know at the age of 7 and 9 their time is somewhat limited. As much as I love them, we wont be having any more dogs.

Up pretty early this morning making an appointment for the district nurse to come and dress hubbys surgical wound. I would have rang but I needed to chase repeat prescriptions, and deliver a letter from the hospital that was written for hubbys GP. I thought I'd get it sorted before it got too hot but I needing have feared, its a bit chilly truth be told. Not that I'm complaining.

Hubby is well, sleeping a lot and a bit clingy in between but he's ok. I'm hoping he'll be ok on the new medication. Its not as strong as the stuff they gave him at the hospital but i'll just have to chase my GP for a prescription if he cant cope.

'Youngest' is still holed up in his room with his 'online' girlfriend. She seems nice enough but she, like the others has got a tendency to shriek a lot. :rotfl:

Steak pie and chips for tea with something green. Something nice and simple.:)

    Onwards and forwards,

    have a great day all.

Thanks Tru, The gentleman telephoned all the local branches to see if they had any in stock but unfortunately they hadn't, so I had to pick another, the one I chose was £1 per metre more but when I went to pay they said it didn't matter about the extra cost...so that was a good result. :)

    Afternoon all,

Dumpling - Sorry about Sam, must be awful for you :(

The day started out sunny but we have had some rain this afternoon and it has got a bit chillier.
DH and DS2 are home and in the garage playing with the scooter. I really don't know why DH bought it, he'd have done better to pay a bit more and buy one without problems. At least I can't be blamed as I wasn't here the day they got it! I do feel sorry for DS, he only got to go out on it last night and it was making a noise when he came back. Even the man in the garage told DH the best thing was to sell it for spares. Oh well, you just can't tell some people...

Chicken for dinner, I might make a curry. That will annoy them :)
