Succesful claim, are Barclays going to ditch me?

Hi all, I had a £1900 overdraft with Barclays that I lived in for in excess of 10 years. I paid off the overdraft about 6 months ago and haven't been in it since.

In the past 18 months I have had a few substantial pay rises and had a pre-authorised loan of £30,000 available and an overdraft of £2850 available.

Today Barclays have refunded me a not insignificant amount for mis sold PPI and at the same time withdrawn all pre-authorised lending! Are they preparing to close my account?

It's no problem if they do , I have a few other current accounts but want to be prepared and get my wages moved to another account.

Anyone in a similar situation?

Obviously, no one here is privy to your account details or the manner in which you have managed it. However, what can be said with certainty is that a successful PPI complaint has not caused the Bank to withdraw your pre-authorised lending facility.

You need to be discussing this with your bank, not an internet forum.

Barclays are probably recouping their money while they can. They are beginning to charge per day for overdrafts so you'll be better off anyway without one.

Cheers taff, I've seen the charges for overdrafts have gone through the roof at Barclays! Thankfully much better with money now so no need for it.

Money ineptitude, thanks for the reply, I'll leave it as is rather than waste a phone call to a bombay call centre, will probably shut my account soon regardless.
