Paying Collection Agencies

Apologies if this is a duplicate thread.

Basically I owe Lending Stream £590. I don't dispute this and am now in a position to repay them.

I recieved an email from CRS telling me they are collecting on behalf of LS.

I have rang up and set up a one off payment for the end of the month with CRS to repay the entire debt.

On my Experian page the debt still comes under Lending Stream. Will it reflect on my credit score if I pay CRS? Lending Stream is my last default on my report and I'd hate to pay CRS and then have it not show that i've payed it on my report.

What does in say in their letters?

They are likely collecting on behalf of LS, so LS likely still own the account. So LS will be on your file.

How long ago did it default?

  • i just had a text saying to contact them reference the 590 I owed.

Ok so they don't actually own the debt now? they're just doing it on behalf of LS.

I think it defaulted about a year ago.
