Why would anyone post a wanted listing for a sob story - not nearly as useful as a fridge or a rabbit hutch? :rotfl: :rotfl:

(no seriously - I think they should keep 'em off Freecycle - an explanation is fine and might generate interest, but otherwise no.)

Majority are not true, usually cheeky requests and most can see through them!

I think sob stories and people requesting they want it for a charity should not be allowed.
We have no way of knowing if their request are genuine. I have seen several post claiming that offers have gone to a charity. If people want to give stuff to charities they should post that fact in their offer and that genuine freecyclers need not reply

Lol! Sorry, I meant to say i'm a moderator on a freecycle group.
Just getting very curious as to what members think when theres a long-winded explanation behind wanting an item. Surely a please and thankyou is enough in most cases!

what a great idea, think i'll have to try a tie breaker sometime when i offer something. wonder what it could be.
