A savings account with a cheque book, anyone?

My missus' account with Investec is being closed because they want her to go online. We are getting on a bit.
She likes a little bit of income, but mostly wants the instant access feel of the cheque book they gave her.
It is just a (biggish) lump sum.
Anyone with any ideas please?
(She won't go to a bank which attracts a lot of customer srvice complaints either. A bit funny like that)

ps, Does that rule out all of them?

A savings account with cheque book is called a current account. Lots of them about but different amounts they accept so depends on what amounts you're looking at. But between them you can get £40k plus in so might be enough.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0

All the big banks will attract a lot of complaints, it's just a question of scale and numbers.
The easiest thing might be a Santander 123 account, nearly 3% interest on up to £20000. Santander historically had a poor reputation for service but on this account the feedback is pretty good, I've got two and have had no problems.0
