Financial Associates Advice

Options
So i recently sold a house with my ex (circa 9 months now) and the other day I decided to get a credit check on myself, as I am now looking to purchase a property solo.

I used equifax as they had a free service and I was shocked to see my credit score in the orange with a 225 rating! I think the fact i've moved back into my parents and so couldn't list the same address twice meant my address history looked suspicious however (Current addres parents, less than one year - addres before that the house I bought, less than one year - address before that my parents, over 10 years - Wouldnt let me list this again so I just went with my parents address.) as the house I bought was listed, even though I didn't enter it.

Upon looking into the report, the thing that concerned me the most was that I noticed that I had 1 financial associate and it was my ex (Due to 1 failed mortgage application - processed without our permission by ex family friend financial advisor (Commision hunter!!)) and the other being our actual mortgage.

I've requested Equifax to remove the associate which they did in 24 hours which is great. The issue I have now is, do I also have to reach out to other credit files?

I tried to use experians free trial but I've used it in the past so unsure how to proceed with them. Whenever I try to login to my old account now they just want my card details before anything else.

Any other agencies I need to talk too?

Yes you need to check the other 2 agencies and if ex appears file a notice of disassociation with each.

Experian if you have used the free trial in the past then just order the £2 statutory report (by post or online).

Callcredit is the third agency. You can get free access to your file with them through their noddle brand.

In terms of addresses - are you on the electoral roll at your current address? and if so is that showing on your file(s)?

Thanks mate, will order £2 experian report now. Much better than subscribing to their services. Can I just submit a form to them online like i did with equifax to remove too?

Never heard of call credit, will give their noodle brand a Google - thanks for all your help mate.

Out of curiosity, im removing her from my credit file but does it remove me from hers? Basically if im still on hers will it also affect me?

    Nice one.

Yes only one of you needs to do the disassociation.

Thanks Tixy, even out of the relationship it seems everything is down to me to sort.

I've succesfully removed our 2 connections on Equifax. Funnilly enouhg there was only 1 connection on noddle and it was different to the 2 on Equifax.

I've just purchased a £2 report from experian and have to wait for that to be generated so hopefully once I receive that, it's all resolved.

That it now? Thanks for all your help everyone.
