Would you rather earn a million or win a million? Would it bother you?

win it please.
So I could pay off the mortgage and the residual debts, drop to part time at work easily and invest in the hubs start up company.0 -

Oh and this might not sound very MSE, but put enough to one side t put our only child through private school at secondary level. :cool:0 -
Earn half and win the other half ;-)
Preferably the win first which will help with the earning bit (no rent to pay....!)
To that extent, even winning a quarter of a million would be fine and I'd then happily go on to earn the rest. May just be able to save £750 000 in the remainder of my working life if I could put aside what I save now + what we pay in rent.
I'd feel prouder if I had achieved it myself - like now, I feel immensely proud of where I am without any help from parents or any contacts and against all obstacles. If I just won the money it would be nice but I wouldn't have that sense of achievement.
Though... If I was to win a million I wouldn't turn it away!0 -
I don't care a about a sense of achievement. It all spends the same to me. I don't care where money comes from.
WIN IT!!0 -
I'd rather earn it. It means more to me if I have earnt it and am more careful how I spend it. If I'm given money I spend it like its going out of fashion.Money saved in 2018: £18.78 in jar, £250 added to savings. Total: £268.780

I could live with a win of that size
I'd cope with the absent sense of achievement and console myself with retail therapy lol Bossymoo
