Would you rather earn a million or win a million? Would it bother you?

If you had the choice? Obviously it would be great to earn a million, but if you won that amount of money instead, would you care?

I would rather win it, the reasons being

It is usually quicker to win money than it is to earn it.
Winnings can be tax free but you pay tax on earnings

I'd rather earn it but if I was to win it then I wouldn't turn it away either!! :-)

I'd rather win it. I'm not proud about where the money comes from.

    Money is money ....

You'll find me down at the beach once the cheque clears..... enjoying a Harvester lunch and half a cider, while looking at house for sale details and checking out the cost of beach huts.

Over my Entire Lifetime I will probably earn a million. On which I am taxed etc.
If anyone can assist me in winning a million, I can stop this earning lark, make donations to education & health (Possibly Even a political party! [Or, more likely, Scouts]) and fund assorted small business startups employing more taxpaying peoples.

I may yet earn more millions with the one as seedcorn but no way can I afford to start things on my current income.

Which is "better"? A million quid is met with a certain level of courtesy no matter what it's legitimacy - but I'd prefer a win to a handover of drug money or the like.

I'd rather win it. Then I can focus on my passions (be it work or just hobbies) rather than just grinding to earn and make a living.

    You only live once.
  • million is setting it low a bit these days, I don't have confidence that a million quid would be suffice for the long lives of most people these days

if I won it in my 60s then fair play I'm on my way out, I have maybe 30 odd years if I'm lucky , the deal will do the distance, even if I want that flashy car

but under 60 , earn it every time - what's the rules, do I earn it ever year ? if so then I'm obviously in some plush job making others earn it for me while I sit back and do FA anyway and bark orders at the underlings - in other words, company director. far more fun and far less work than winning a million or even a day's work in a proper job ......

I would rather earn it, plus if you're earning a million surely you will continue to have a good wage, neither will happen to me as I don't gamble.

Id rather earn it as the person you will become in the process means you will never want for money again.
