Tax Credit Deadline

I was watching Martin on TV talking about Tax Credits - whilst on hold to DWP - and I am seriously worried about this renewal deadline that is on all of the adverts. Please could some-one help me with some advice. I rang the DWP helpline on 18 June, because I had not received a renewal pack but the money being paid into the bank had changed. I was told that the paperwork had been sent on 14th, but allow up to three weeks to get it. I still have not received it - the deadline is looming - are they just going to stop all payments on the 31 if I have not got the paperwork. The guy on the phone did not know the answer and just kept saying I cannot do anything until I get the renewal pack - he has issued another one and told me to renew by the date on my paperwork - but he did not know if it will still be 31 July - (but it can take up to two weeks to arrive now) - giving me less than a week to renew - and we are taking a family vacation for two weeks the end of July. What if it arrives and we are away - what if I cannot renew by 31 - Do I need to call another department??? This is really stressing me. Thank-you for any advice. C

Yes if you don't renew by 31st July then your claim will be stopped.
If you have any issues you just call the helpline as normal.
Thank-you very much for your reply. Sorry for my mistake - I always get HMRC & DWP mixed up. I called again, but went through to the department for change of circumstances (not the 'form not arrived' dept - as I had originally). The man on the phone was very helpful and explained that my renewal had been reordered, and it should have a delay date on to allow extra receipt and response time. Why the first person could not give me this information in the first instance is beyond me. Life is very complicating at the moment - I apologise for my panic - but I have always found the answers to any of my problems have been addressed elsewhere on the forum. This was my first post and appreciated you responding.0 -
He said it 'should', but it has been logged that myself, along with many others, have not received their packs this year. If it just a copy of the original it might still have the end of July date - he was not entirely sure - but the date can be extended immediately with a phone call to the helpline. He could not give any further information regarding dates until I receive my pack. But, there are apparently allowances in place for people not receiving their information on time this year. I have never had this problem before, the pack has always arrived and been renewed in plenty of time. Wondering if the change over to Universal Credit has caused the delays this year and hoping that it is just a one-off.0
