Will Using a Credit Card Help Raise the Limit?

If I use a credit card, will it help them decide if I can have a bigger limit?
When I first got it, the card limit was £2000, which was fine as I didn't need that much. I stopped using it for months, so they dropped it to just £500. It's paid off automatically with a DD.
Now I am fast approaching a time when I will need to use it again, so I am thinking if I start using it now then in a few months ask for a raise in the limit to £1000, then would do it?
Thanks

They might do. Not guaranteed. But certainly more likely than if you never use it.0
