Sent application form

Hi

NatWest has obviously noticed that my other half is employed and has money coming in now, so they have sent him an application form for a credit card without him asking for one

Are they allowed to do this? Seems a bit irresponsible to me...

You are very lucky if it was the first one you ever received...

How is just inviting him to apply 'irresponsible'?

Not first one that he's received, although first from NatWest

Irresponsible for a) trying to encourage him to get one when he doesn't want or need one and b) his employment is only temporary at the moment unfortunately

They won't know about his employment status, or his willpower issues. Ask them to take him off the mailing lists.

Fair play that you're getting them from NatWest, I keep getting them from Aqua and Capital One.

Well they obviously know he is employed (although they won't know it's temporary) as he has banked with them for a long time and it can't be coincidence that he's only just got one now he's bringing money in

He has had a few from Capital One in the past. Got him taken off of their mailing list (not that he ever gave them his details to put him on one)

Same with NatWest, we are *quite* strict about stopping junk mail etc, and it's very rare that we let something slip through the net

I shall get in touch with them and make them stop sending him any more

The irresponsibility would be if he sent it back. Can he not contact them himself ?

I'm generally better at these types of things, and I'm a house husband whilst he works 51 hours a week...
