PPI claim with account numbers

Hi,

I have original account numbers and lenders but no idea which ones had ppi added? Is there anyway of finding out without relying on the 'honesty' of the lender?

Any help would be fantastic

Thanks

Dave

They have no reason to lie to you, just ring them and ask.

But it doesn't look good, if you cant remember if you had them, how can you possibly say that they were miss sold.....

And if you did indeed pay PPI, you still have to have evidence to prove your complaint.

  • Isn't the fact that I dont know worth asking the question? I was in full-time permanent employment, with full sickness benefits etc. doesn't that mean I wouldn't have needed it?

Well if you lost your job/made redundant then the part about covering payment when unemployed would have kicked in so no, that is not in itself grounds for stating that PPI was missold.

Duplicate cover in place would as would them not telling you that your loan had optional PPI but simply because you worked is not in itself a reason not to have PPI.

David, I could be very very very harsh with what you've written but all I will say is to look very carefully at the guide for reclaiming PPI and look at the reasons why the policy could have been missold. The fact you don't remember having PPI is not necessarily a reason for misselling.

What do you define as full sickness benefits?

If you don't know if you had PPI, you can either phone and ask, or you can send a SAR and £10 to each lender.

Phone and ask, it's the easiest and quickest way.

Not always the most accurate though. Only a SAR will garner a thorough search of all records still held by the Bank. Calling only works if it's recent finance which can be called up on screen by the operator.
