Best travel insurance for connecting flights?

I've booked a flight to the US which has 1 connection on the outbound and 1 connection on the inbound, I realise if either flight is delayed or cancelled I'll miss the connecting flight and am trying to find travel insurance that would cover me for this event, can anyone advise what this is called?

IMO you don't need extra insurance provided you are travelling with the same airline all the way through.
If you miss the connection through a flight delay they are obliged to look after you and put you on the next available flight.
If you are using different airlines for different legs of the journey you probably will be on your own.0
