Does a full time student need 'commuting' on their insurance policy if they use the vehicle to get to and fro college?

Well you are commuting, your occupation is student and your place of work is the collegeThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

If you take work home with you, you need business use. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

The wording tends to be something like "commuting to a permanent place of work or study" so yes that would include a student going to college.
In my experience commuting cover usually adds nothing or pennies to the premium so it's not a big deal - if there's any chance that you might need it there's no reason not to add it. Business use is much the same.0 -
I did when i insured my youngsters.
And to and from work because they worked weekends.
It didn't cost any more money - so it's better to have it covered.0 -

Very good - that should go in the Quote of the Year competition.
You mean like Art & Design students, just sticking bits of pictures in a random pattern ?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
So today I spoke to the insurers, they said they didn't include going to College as commuting. So best to check as it would have been a £30 increase in premium.0
