Bad credit score

Hi
I am looking to enquire about my credit score. I have a poor score with experian of 607 and equifax of 480 which is really poor. I had 3 defaults which I cleared in May past (2014).
What way can I get my credit score to improve so I can look more favourable to a lender for a mortgage as I have the job and deposit needed for the house I wish to purchase, just the bad credit.
The 3 defaults are 3years old now and we're all relatively small amounts of less than £ 300.
Thanks

Firstly, you don't have a credit score. The numbers that Experian, Equifax and Noddle give you are complete and utter rubbish. They don't accurately represent your likelihood of being accepted for credit, ignore them.
Having a credit card and paying it off in full every month is usually the easiest way to improve your credit history. I doubt you'll get accepted for a mortgage with 3 defaults on your file, you might have to wait 3 years until they drop off. Contact a mortgage broker rather than going to a bank.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

If this is the only negative on your file then once it has dropped off you should find it easier to get accepted for mainstream credit.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
