Now that the introductory interest rate has gone and I don't use the account for anything else, is there any reason to keep paying the £1000 a month in?

Do you mean the FlexDirect account? If so, then no.
If you really mean Flex Account, then yes, and it means you get free travel insurance and other Flexclusive perks.0 -

Nationwide sometimes offer preferential accounts to their members like the flexclusive and loyalty ones, maybe worth keeping dormant on the off chance0

Perhaps better to downgrade it to a FlexAccount then (and cycle £750 a month through it) in order to a) maintain 'main account' status, and b) take advantage of another FlexDirect account and it's introductory rate at a later date?Nationwide sometimes offer preferential accounts to their members like the flexclusive and loyalty ones, maybe worth keeping dormant on the off chance0
