Paint corrosion and insurer

Hi,

I posted in this forum last year about accident damage which was repaired by the insurer's authorised repairer. It had started to corrode in that area and the repairer wouldn't accept that they had done a bad job.

After complaining to the insurer they agreed to fix it.

Over the last few months some of the paint has just 'flaked off' and the corrosion has begun happening again.

So it would appear that the repairer has done a bad job (again). What should I do?

- I don't particularly want to go back to the same repairer as they have done a bad job twice now - can I request a different place be used?

The original repair listed 'lifetime guarantee' the subsequent repair came with a shorter certificate IIRC maybe 3 years. I am now with a different insurance company.

I suppose the risk is the new place won't want to be involved with the bad work of the original repairer.

Does anyone have any advice they can offer?

Contact the original insurers again, this time though you request they authorize the work to be corrected at another repairers due to poor workmanship x2, Or you will choose the repairer and they pay for the correctional work to be completed.
