Yorkshire Bank PPI Claim Rejection

Hi,
Don't know if this has been mentioned before but I just can't any joy from Yorkshire Bank with regards to ppi on a bank loan. I took the loan out back in 2001, not sure if it had ppi or not but the loan was for £15k. I have no paperwork as I have moved house a couple of times since then. I have done a SAR request and the response was that because it's over 7 years ago the records have now been destroyed. Do I have any chance of finding out for certain if I was mis-sold ppi?
Thanks.

So the Bank have no records and you don't know whether you even had any PPI?I just can't any joy from Yorkshire Bank with regards to ppi on a bank loan. not sure if it had ppi or not
Don't forget, it's not wrong simply to have insurance-it has to have been mis-sold to you.
Unless you can find comprehensive documentary evidence (in your own archives) of having held a PPI policy and can construct a robust mis-selling complaint then you will have to let this one go, I'm afraid.0 -
The evidence must show that it is more likely than not (and not simply equally likely) that the policy was missold for a complainy to be upheld.
There is no evidence that the policy ever even existed, let alone that it was missold.
So I would say your chances of success are virtually nil.0 -

Do you have an active current account with this bank? If so there's a small chance they still hold bank statements on microfiche which may show your loan and PPI charges. This was how I found evidence for my complaint without any loan documents.
Unfortunately, if you closed your account with them more than six years ago, they will have probably destroyed records of a loan from 2001.0
