Printer Problems

I had a lexmark installed in the PC. It has now been replaced with an HP. But I can't uninstall the rotten lexmark.

Whenever I try to, it says there are unfinished print jobs, cannot uninstall. However, I can't find the said print jobs to cancel them, and the PC keep strying to use the Lexmark to print instead of th HP.

I'm sure it's all perfectly simply, but not to me I'm afraid.

Any advice gratefully received.:D
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

have you gone to add/remove programmes and got rid of anything in there that says Lexmark? Sorry obvious question.

You could do a search for Lexmark (in the search facility) and see what files come up - should be safe to delete them all.

    Yes, I have.

Anyhoo, tried your suggestion, put everything in the recycle bin, emptied it, apart from photo editor which told me to reinstall the driver, went back to uninstall, as it was still there, and received the same message.

    Aaaagh.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Which operating system do you use, is it XP ? Restart in safe mode (keep tapping F8 as your puter starts up) and try removing it then.

Had a similar problem with an old Lexmark 720 a few years ago. Found that I had to uninstall with built in uninstall module - part of Lexmark software package - or it wouldn't go! I suggest that you reinstall then look for this option.

Or can I tell the pc I want the HP printer to be used instead of the Lexmark?

Just until I manage to get rid of it. It's like having a virus ~ well p'raps not.

You should be able to make the HP the priority printer in " Printers ", just tick it. ( if it is the same as XP ).
