Comping is becoming so stressful
Comments

It can be very stressful & I hope adding your middle name helps with some of the stress.
I did not chase one single comp win last year but I have chased about 15 so far this year, I don't know why it's happening this year but not last year
xxx
OMG so have I! Since Easter I have had to chase up a fair few prizes and I hate doing it! I almost feel guilty because I am not paying for the prize. I don't think I had to chase up any prizes last year but this year has been a nightmare! I won an Easter activity book for my daughter which has yet to appear, even after chasing and being promised it would be sent out - but now I have given up on it as I think my daughter is over Easter bunnies and chicks by now! Even a Hotel Chocolat Easter egg prize never appeared, and after weeks of chasing, I was eventually sent a small box of chocolates in June - with a note saying 'sorry the egg you won is out of stock so we sent you these in stead!' It is just disappointing when prizes don't arrive, especially when wins are becoming more rare or when you have entered daily by rafflecopter to win them!:(:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -
luckily enough I've only had to chase up a couple of wins since the beginning of the year & then they were sent within a week or so,
topaz - yes, comping can be stressfull & sometimes manic but I sincerely hope you don't give it up (((hugs)))
xplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -
It is disappointing.
I wait 28 days then email but I am like you I hate doing it.
It's been a mix of reasons
Rep/promotional person not responding to emails (one had left the job!)
Lost in post
No reason why it happened & just turned up in the end
Mix up with emails between me, rep/promotional person & comp holder
I've had one book I knew I won, but have had a further 2 just the same turn up I did not know I won so don't know if they are dupes of the same comp or new comp wins & I deleted the comp once I had the book & can not remember where I won it from to find out if they sent two more by error!
No Not stressful at all!

Too many compers enter every comp for everything going...
That equals stress!!!
I enter ONLY for things we want as a family, and virtually never enter any comps for less than £100 (depends how im feeling, or how upto date iam)
I dont win as often as i first did, but in the last 12 months ive won 3 huge prizes (holiday to portugal (jan14), £1000(sept13) and £2000(feb14)) and THATS what keeps me going, knowing sooner or later another biggie will come in.....THIS AUGUST 2014 Im going to win an ITV comp finally!!!!
(by my reckoning I'll be number 130 on itv winners list)
(i have quite a few small prizes that are just sitting in a cupboard - 4 x books, fishing quiver?? vase, water sprinkler,NEON BODY PAINT:eek:)
Never give things i dont want a second thought...
Just do what you'd really like to win, but remember this way doesnt get regular wins but one day it will pay off.
(and dont get involved in the sitting on FB comps all day on FB, that is too stressful, all the crappy comments, ''never had a holiday'', lost me job, had several operations and the phrase i hate the most (apart from ''hun'') is...........'''OMG Thats amazing! thanks for the chance!!!!!!!!!:mad::mad::mad:'''
(prize a bar of chocolate worth £7.99) and a lipstick worht probably £10?????
Oh same for twitter, you'll fight a losing battle there, most comps are bombarded by 'bot's' tweeting for people hundreds of times.
Good easier wins are usually - recipe ideas, photos(not voting) stories about whatever, reviews.... These take time so most compers dont do them (when i was going thru a list last night i noticed 1 comp for a recipe and photos only had 12 page views! (itv comps 3000+) so play the short odd game aswell.Still comping, after 2 heart attacks 4th feb & 6th feb, and a stent put in.. 45 years old only:eek:0 -
I've had one prize outstanding since April- a click to win.
I emailed early June but have had no response...So I'll have to chase it.
Some prizes arrive quickly, and then others take way longer than stated. I don't mind if it's going to be 6-8 weeks before it's going to be delivered, as long as it says that in the t&c's, but when you're told 28 days it should be 28 days give or take a few days.0 -
I always wait at least 30 days before chasing. Apart from chasing up prizes though, I do enjoy my comping
I view comping as my hobby, along with sewing, embroidery and walking in the fresh coastal sea air!

Yes me too I love it.
It did used to stress me but I changed things & now I'm back to loving it & am really chilled out, in fact I find the comping that I do now relaxing & a distraction to other things

There's another comper with the same name as me too.
However my facebook name is my correct christian name and a nickname where the surname usually is. I'd change your facebook name slightly if I were you.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
