The NI is for an affidavit for seaworld.

May need legal advise as never signed one before

All you should need for Seaworld is a ticket.

You need to ask lots more questions i think. What possible use could they have for your NI number ? None, as far as i can see.

Sounds like the sort of win people get with timeshare.

We've been to Seaworld lots of times. Last time we visited Florida (last year) we didn't go. i think their vistor numbers may be falling since the accident in 2009 and the release of Blackfish last year. It lost it's wow factor for us after that. I probably wouldn't go back again.
  • Hi Everyone, I'm Lisa I work for Family Traveller. I can ensure everyone that this competition is genuine. After speaking to the organisers at Seaworld they have said they use the NI number for identification purposes, we would assume that this is because it's an american company. However, I have gone back and asked if another form of identification can be used. For example - Passport number. The organisers haven't been in this situation before so they have gone away to see if this is possible, we at Family Traveller totally understand your concerns but I can put your mind at rest that this is a genuine competition. Doddsy1 please feel free to call me on the numbers on my email and I can discuss this further with you. Thanks

    Sounds like rubbish to me.
Been to Seaworld many times, never needed our NI number. Have been asked for photo ID but I honestly fail to see why they'd need a NI number.

How would an american company use a NI for identification purposes ? And why would you "assume" ?

The second bolded sentence would worry me. How can the organisers never have been in this situation before ? Is this the first competition where someone has actually won ?

Thanks for all your suggestions guys.

Sounds like Lisa is doing a great job of sorting things out.

I haven't won a competition and just wanted some advise as to whether this was the normal info required.

Doesn't sound like a normal competition to me.

I'd still be asking lots of questions. Sounds more like a marketing freebie to me. Read the t & c's in full, every word, before parting with any cash or any information.
