Convert current Santander credit card to 123

I highly doubt it but does anyone know if Santander would convert an existing credit card to a 123 credit card?

Will call them when they reopen but thought it worth asking here.

Thanks

It's a good while ago now, but Santander did ask (in my online area) if I wanted to swap my Zero card to a 1-2-3 card. I couldn't say whether they're still making such offers.

Good to know, thanks. Was asking for a relative so will let them know. They are planning on closing the account but I thought this would be a good thing to question before they do.

asking on the way out certainly gives your relative some leverage, so if it's possible they'll probably do it.

that is the card they are pushing (they push me every week in-branch) and YB certainly provides hope, but in the past i have never found them able to change accounts. close & re-apply has always been the way with Santander, Halifax and Tesco ime.

whereas Barclaycard and MBNA can be very creative when you get someone on the phone with a brain and who wants to help. Amex are even more creative, but always get the impression that account changing is not possible.

Around 6 months ago I rang in to close my Santander card once 0% balance transfer ended. I was transferred to another department. They did offer me to convert my existing card to 123 card. Was not interested so it was closed.

Just realised I've not updated this.

The answer was no so account was closed and 123 opened.
