Spare wheel question

Oops, sorry. I'm in NI and I still think that if a spare wheel (in the right place) is present, it must be usable. I stand to be corrected (again) though!
Its very common for forums to spout the old fable "if fitted it must work". Winds me up, why put your car in for a test when you dont know whats required. Must be a dodgy mechanics dream. Although I understand the NI test is different.0 -
Ah, tempting fate. I have a puncture. Actually cause by a stone. It seems to have become embedded in the tread, and then worked itself through the tyre. It seems to be a slow (12 hour) puncture. Won't dig out easily, and breaks into flakes. Probably too close to the limit to be worth repairing, so not a great loss. Ah well, onto the spare set.0
