Stanford and Green bogus letter???

I have revived a letter today from Stanford and green civil enforcement
saying that i have an outstanding balance of £840.12 in council tax.
the problem is I live in Yorkshire, the company is based in London and the south and deal with problems in that area.
I have never NEVER missed a payment, or had another letters saying i owe anything, my local council say they use an in house company for late payments.
It has no dates of when this money is owed from and only use's my first initial and surname,

Anyone had any dealings or advice on this before I call them to try get some more information on this.

You need to write to them and ask them for details for the debt.

A local authority can employ a solicitor anywhere in the jurisdiction. What really matters if whether you genuinely have a council tax debt. If not, it may well be that you have a similar name to a real debtor who has skipped their old address..

Don't worry, but don't ignore this either.

I've spoken to the company direct, I withheld my number and give no more details to them than what was on the letter Ie my first initial and surname and they ref number.
The man i spoke to say the debt was sent out to tender by Kent council and has been sent out to a number of people with the same name.

They are going to write to me stating this.
