My mum has been claiming IB since 18 Jan (she has been diagnosed with COPD), she has been told that it will increase to the short term higher rate at the end of this month (week 29 I assume). My question is, after this date does she have to continue to send end doctors sick notes? She keeps stressing that they are not going to keep giving them to her which is obviously not good in her condition.
Also, she has not been asked to attend any medical examinations. She had one quick interview at the job centre a couple of months back but they could obviously see she was ill and was there all of 10 minutes, is this normal or should she expect to have an examination.
Thanks

You have to send in sick notes until the DWP tell you not to.
AFAIK, they tend to ask you for a medical at some point unless you are in an 'exempt' category.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0
