Paying rent using credit card

I have recently used my credit card to pay £300 to my monthly rent with North Lanarkshire council. Would this be considered as a cash advance? I'm using a Vanquis card.

IMO it will count as a purchase not cash.

yes, it will be a purchase. paying council rent and council tax can be a nice cashback generator, i hear;)

Not when they charge 1.8%

agreed, that would reduce it significantly. some councils allow tenants to pay Rent by creditcard with no fee. along with Council Tax.
