have you actually priced up the plate you want on the new reg site

I looked a plate on the DVLA website and it was £599.00 inc vat assignment and first 12 months retention fee

the price for the same plate on the new reg site was advertised as £594.00 so £5.00 cheaper this price was plus vat and you had to add the £80.00 assignment fee and a few other compulsary money making extras the total price for the same plate was £840.00

    Registration Mark £595.00, VAT @ 20% £119.00

    Compulsory DVLA transfer fee £80.00

Transfer & administration £20.79, VAT on transfer & administration £4.16

Acrylic plates £16.25, VAT on acrylic plates £3.25

    Total Price: £838.45

so the £4.00 saving on new reg works out to be £240.00 dearer than buying off the DVLA

Buy the actual acrylic plates from ebay or local motor factors (alot cheaper and probably better quality). If I was spending loads on a vanity reg, I don't want RegTransfers.com or SpeedyReg.co.uk on the bottom. LOL.

when you buy on the site quoted above you dont get a choice the made up plates are a compulsory add on that you cant knock off so another way for them to take a couple of quid off you

Just buy it directly, forget the rest of the add ons.

I've 3 numbers on retention, have done for years, £25 each year to renew and I keep entitlement.
