Squeaky clutch

Evening all.
I've got a 13 plate Kia Picanto, done just over 6500 miles and my clutch is getting a bit "squeaky" at the top.
It's still pulling away fine, changing gear is no problem and it's fine on hill starts and holding at lights etc. I am heavy on the clutch, 90% of my driving is around town and it's mostly stop/start all day, lots of short journeys in traffic.
The squeak is after the biting point, it feels a little scratchy too. It doesn't seem to do it when I'm in neutral, only going up or down when moving?
As it's a lease car, I can't really be messing around too much under the bonnet but taking it to the dealer is a real pain, I need it every day for work. If it's just a quick grease job somewhere, I'd probably be ok, but not sure if I need to get it looked at?
Thanks in advance!

Hard to describe, but is the 'squeak' from underneath the car/in the engine, or does it sound like it's inside the car? I'm asking this because clutches don't often squeak when they are failing (grind, howl, shudder, possibly). On the other hand, I have had many cars where the clutch pedal pivot gets a bit dry and squeaks every time you operate the clutch. It sounds much more like that to me from your description.
Get down and have a poke about in the footwell. If you can make the pedal squeak by hand pressure, then it's the pivot. A drop of 3-in-1 oil if you can get to it, or a spray with WD-40 should fix it. Try not to get the WD-40 on the carpet, though. That's bad news.If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0 -
Yes, it does sound like it's "in" the car, as opposed to an engine noise.
I've normally got music on, windows open etc, and I can feel it rather than hear it, it does feel like a lubrication problem rather than anything serious, I've not had a burning smell or any problems with holding the clutch. I can only hear it with the windows closed, which is unbearable at the moment in this heat!
I'll have a poke around with the pedal tomorrow and see if I can sort it out.

If that's the case, then I would bet my pension on it being the pedal pivot. If the pivot is really dry, you can get a rubbing or grating feeling through your foot as well. If the car is changing gear OK and the clutch isn't slipping, I'd say you have an easy fix there. Grease on the pivot is the proper answer, but if you give it a spritz of WD-40 and it goes away for a while, you've found your problem. If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0
