I'd also add, having seen Matelot's post (Ely's a long way from the sea!) that my absolute minimum usage is 52w an hour or 1 .25 units per day.0

Going back to the original post this sure would be an interesting thing to do. However you could receive a bit of hassle fro your to and fro suppliers lol BUT the customer is always right and if it works out cheaper for you and you dont mind switching twice a year then why not. Standing charges are a bit pricey for pre payment meters (mines 21p per day) so if your not using a serious amount of gas/electricity in the summer then it may well be cost effective to switch to a 'no standing charge' tariff. Just be careful not to lock yourself into a contract with early exit fees.
Good luck0 -

In my region, UW charge DD customers on their Gold package £1141 for average consumption. For PPM it's £1299. A 13% premium.
Surely you should be savvy yourself in order to advise others? It's like being taught etiquette by Phil the Greek.0 -

We are not on about UW here though? On about switching to a 'no daily charge ' tariff.
Going back to the original question, as far as im aware EBICO offer a no standing charge tariff so may be worth a look. Hope this helps and let us know how you get on as i personally would like to see which direction you take.
EDIT: Just looked at a quote from Ebico that may help you. Price per kwh for gas - 5.41p and for electricity - 16.71p.0
