hello all ,
i have no idea about ppi claims or anything to do with it , but a friend of mines ex partner claimed for a joint account they had yrs ago anyway he just agreed and signed for her to go ahead thinking nothing would come of it anyway , they did get joint refund payments , he has had a bad couple of years so was overdrawn with his bank and the refund was paid into this bank with the od so he has actually seen none of the money so to speak , do they not ask how and where u want the refund paid before hand or is this how it goes , .like i said i have no idea about these things but just wanted to check, he has also been informed he will have to pay approx £300.00 to the company who dealt with it.
many thanks for any help

he has had a bad couple of years so was overdrawn with his bank and the refund was paid into this bank with the od so he has actually seen none of the money so to speak
It reduced his debt though which is a good thing.do they not ask how and where u want the refund paid before hand or is this how it goes ,
With some debts yes. With some debts, no (in those cases the recredit the source of payment). If the person is not in arrears, had defaults or amounts written off, then often you can ask for the money to be paid as cheque to present it elsewhere.he has also been informed he will have to pay approx £300.00 to the company who dealt with it.
People with arrears, defaults, amounts written off etc should never use a claims company. The claims company will bill based on the amount of the refund even if none of the money is received cash in hand.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). If he just signed forms to allow the partner to complain [ the normal mobudsman ones], but didn't sign any forms from a claims company allowing them to complain on his behalf, he doesn't have to pay their bill the partner who instructed them doesNon me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
