Santander123 credit card 3% cashback query

I am aware that the 3% cashback is valid on fuel and transport and is a subject to a cap of £9 each month. My question is what this 'month' means? Is this a calendar month or the billing period month? Anyone sure about the answer?
Tried to look into the T&Cs but can't find anything specific mentioned apart from saying 'month'.
