Hi All,

At a total loss as what to do with this cash. Part of me wants to throw it at my mortgage, the other part of me wants to invest or save it.

Any suggestions?

Any danger of a little more detail about your circumstances?

You can invest £15k this year in a S&S ISA. Current accounts paying 3%-5% will take another chunk.

Other options, pension and mortgage as suggested

I earn about £24k a year. Own 2 properties - My current current house has a £55k mortgage, my other property is a buy to let with a mortgage of £85k.

I have no pension (im 39)

Other than that, I have no other debts or loans.

Sorting that would appear to be a priority.

Does work not offer a pension or are you self employed?

    yep I'm self employed.

My issue with pensions is always the mixed messages I get about them.

So Ive invested money in property. If I was to guess, my current house has a value of £300k, and my 2nd property has a value of £140.

It been the plan to downsize and cash in when Im at retirement age. Of course that plan is probably very short sighted.
