Ex moved out not changed Address

Not sure if this is the correct forum for this, but here goes


My ex moved out a year ago, but has not changed his address with anyone, I don't have his new address, all his post including overdue bills are coming to me. what do I do?

    Write on them No Longer at This Address and pop them into the post box.

  • File them in the same place as you do flyers etc.

    Not your problem. (assuming these arent utility bills which you should be paying?!)

    Just write "not at this address" on the front of the envelopes and take them to the post office. They should then return them to the sender

    thank you everyone, the other problem is he hasn't changed his business address either, he doesn't do much work ! but when you do a search it comes up with my address, he has changed his phone number but not address, any idea what I can do about that?

    Define business address. Are you saying a ltd company is registered at your address, or are you saying he's self employed and uses your address on his business cards for example?

    Not limited, but self employed, when you do a google search it comes up with my address

    Make sure that you've taken his name off the electoral roll as well and ensuring that the utility bills are only in your name.

    Are you claiming any benefits/ tax credits as a single person? If so you need to get this sorted.

    I know of more than one person who have been found to be claiming fraudulently and had to pay a lot back in similar circumstances.

    Is there a joint mortgage on the property? Does he have any interest in it still at all?

    If I google me or others, it shows me/them at old addresses. Are you sure you're looking at something that's completely up to date?

    If he has zero interest in the property, do as other say above and just say 'return to sender - no long at this address'.
