FTB Salary v Median Salary

The average age of a FTB is much higher than it used to be. Many FTBs (including myself) have families and a small 1-bed flat with no storage space is simply not an option. Are current FTBers buying the same sort of houses as 10 years ago (flats 1-2 bed terrece etc) or are they jumping straight to "family homes"?0 -

I think you mean "older"
But I agree with you. Lot's of FTB I know either have or plan to have a family in the near future so they look at 2 bedroom places as a minimum.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

As I pointed out above, typical FTBers are buying properties at c. 2/3 the cost of an average home. That implies they are still mostly buying cheaper property, either flats (not executive ones) or small terraces - traditional FTB properties."Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.
"I think I'll become an alcoholic," said Betty.0 -
of an average home including the crazy london/south east prices?
surely these stats are only relevant to each individual area??
same as all "average" earnings/home prices/age, etc etc0 -
I'm not sure how much you can read into averages. Prices are set at the margin.0
