How long did he tell you it would take?

If he didnt, then I would say you have given them plenty of time.

He didn't acg he kind of said how long is a piece of string, I know our mortgage is very small compared to most of the people he deals with, hence his commission is much smaller so am slightly worried we might be pushed aside for bigger cases.

I'm sure we're described like this by many who work for mortgage lenders.

You need to relax a bit, Santander will not even start underwriting for 5-7 working days depending upon their workload.

There is a Santander thread on here somewhere if you look and it will be detailed how you can track your case yourself.

You will have an AA number and use your postcode and you can see what stage you are on.

Be aware Santander are very slow at the moment and their system is painful, but it does work..

    Good luck

pukkamum, commission should not form part of the process. If your case isnt big enough for them they should have charged a fee or declined the case.

How long is a piece of string isnt an answer! Thats pretty shoddy!

This link may help (not that you should have to check yourself) http://www.santanderforintermediaries.co.uk/content/our-service

Thanks acg thats great info just had a look now, our broker hasn't given me a case number to track, not sure if i should ask him for it though as my husband fears i may spend every waking hour checking it!
As for the timescale, just text my husband and he said the broker said best case scenario 48 hrs, but in current climate maximum of 12 weeks, clearly i'd stopped listening by that point!
It's just so stressful having your life in the hands of an unknown quantity!

Love the use of the word "mithering" not used enough down South!

Ask broker for AA reference number and track yourself, it tells you everything about requests etc.

Just way it will stop you from mithering him for info

Still not heard back from broker, clearly my level of mithering not enough, perhaps i should start ubermithering? Husband suggested bombarding him with 'has it come yet?' texts every 10 mins!
Obviously he's only joking but oooooh so tempting.
Oh and husband just called me on the landline and did a cracking impresion of our broker, asking to speak to me, I almost had a heart attack!
    The swine!

    Look at the link http://www.santanderforintermediaries.co.uk/content/our-service

Call your broker. Posting on here is wasting your time with all due respect.

If there is an issue it needs to be dealt with asap. Santander can be a nightmare at the best of times.

By the way there is no such thing as mithering when you have employed somebody to arrange the mortgage for you. My clients get mithered by me they may say.

Updating even when there isn't anything to tell helps keep the mind at ease
