Virgin Media??

Options
I had a notice from equifax this morning to say my credit file had changed.

When i logged in it stated that virgin media had done a search against me??

I have recently cancelled my services with virgin media back in june, everything was paid and its now been disconnected at the end of June.

Why would virgin media do a search against me now??

I have contacted them and they cant tell me - they keep telling me to contact equifax - equifax keep telling me to contact virgin media and im not getting anywhere!!

any idea why they would do this? Getting a little worried as im house hunting so dont want anything going against me on my credit file!!

How is this search listed? identity search? Credit search? More details will help us to advise you.

It's not very clear it says this:-

VIRGIN MEDIA GROUP , a Communication Supplier company, has made an inquiry against your credit report on 27/06/2014 . If you were not aware of or did not consent to this search, contact VIRGIN MEDIA GROUP or Equifax for clarification.

Sorry, I mean on the actual "searches" part of your credit report rather than the initial alert? if you could copy and paste this entry it will be of great help (obviously remove any personal data first though).

Do you have access to your full report?

If so, click on "Previous Searches" and it'll list any searches that have been made. You can ignore all the "Quotation Searches".
Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.

ah i see - i dont have access to my full report - i only have the identity watch part of it which just alerts me to who has searched or anything thats been deleted but wont let me see my full report.

I had the free trial of "checkmytfile" also but that seems to be massively out of date as mot of the credit agreements that have dropped off in the past few months that equifax told me about have not updated on there - the virgin media search has not showed up on my check my file either
