Switched to FD from Barclays - online banking suspended?

So apparently my current account switch went through yesterday.

I know that they close your old account, in this case with Barclays, but does that mean they suspend internet banking access?! :o

I have two savings accounts with Barclays that I also managed online and since yesterday I've been unable to log in. The app and website keep quoting 'error RG131' and to contact them on a particular number but so luck I haven't got through.

If I'd realised they would withdraw online access to other accounts I probably wouldn't have bothered! It's already been quite a hassle. :(

I'm in the same boat but haven't yet tried to logon to my Barclays account. I still have an ISA with them.

What number were you given to call them on?

I was under the impression FD were ok? No issues with my savings accounts and their service so far, unlike Barclays.

I've been on hold with Barclays for 40 minutes after being sent from pillar to post. Apparently it gets cancelled even if I have other accounts open, useful.

Is having a current account a condition of having the savings accounts?

i had an online saver acount only with them, online meant they had to give me online access, they even sent authentication card for pinsentry.

I opened that account with just 1 pound for free kaspersky internet security.

You require a current account to view online banking at Barclays. Now the current account is closed, you will have to phone, branch, post access to your accounts.

Not the case. My only Barclays account is an old ING Savings account with a few pence in it. When this was moved to Barclays, I have been given full online access, complete with PINsentry.

OP, you need to call them and ask for an Authentication Card.

ISA's and other accounts, just not my existing current account.

What a pain. Thanks for the assistance Archi and in response to tomo, I asked them this questions prior to switching and they had categorically stated that it wouldn't affect my internet banking access!!

I tried calling them on Friday but was on hold for 50 minutes so eventually up as that was ridiculous.
