Benefits for M.e/chronic fatigue...

Can anyone give me any advice on this?

I'm 30 and have had this since I was 17.

I've never had any help with benefits - even though I have tried - i've always had to work for a few months until I couldn't handle anymore or had to get help off parents.

My parents are getting older now and I can't keep doing it anymore, nor can I handle keep moving jobs all the time, I just dont have it in me anymore to do it.

I've tried for disablity a few times but as I can wash and dress myself I never get it, i also have depression and anxiety

Can anyone give me any adivce what to do? I was on universal credit but they have kicked me off and i dont know what to do for money

thanks

why have the kicked you off universal credit>
i am presumimg you live in one of the trial areas and was claiming UC in place of HSA?
if you are unfit for work you need to claim ESA. you would need a fit note from your doctor and a medical around or after the 13 week period.
you could also apply for PIP. your best bet is to look at the 'descriptors' and see where, if at all, your care/mobility needs fit in

ESA is the out of work benefit that you need to claim!
i am not suggusting that you dont apply for PIP, but it can take up to a YEAR to get a decision!
ESA would be paid immediately that you produce a valid fit note from your doctor

In addition, if you've been kicked off UC, you can claim ESA back to the date of dissalowance, if you can get a backdated note (and it's not >3 months)

I confess that I have zero knowledge of Universal Credit but from my reading my understanding is that you cannot claim income based ESA separately from UC - only contribution based ESA.

Income based ESA is part of Universal Credit.

Again, from my reading, my understanding is that you are placed into one of four groups according to your personal circumstances - one of those groups would be where you do not have to look for work, just prepare for it.

    http://www.turn2us.org.uk/information__resources/benefits/universal_credit/uc_overview.aspx

I assume if you wish to be considered for this group then you would be assessed (similar to the current ESA regulations)

From what the OP says it seems that they have been found fit for work. I am presuming (again!) that there must be an appeal process.

If someone has a knowledge of the UC system please will they clarify what happens?

OP, I would suggest you get some help from CAB and perhaps the ME charity.

My understanding is that this is true - eventually.
It is not as yet true now.

the only people on UC at the moment are people in a certain area, that would otherwise claim income relayed JSA and no other benefits.
as UC in this area hasnt replaced ESA of either type, then ESA is the benefit to claim
