Old roofing warranty valid?

Hello,

I recently bought my house in January this year and last night when I was in the attic I noticed that one of the roofing panels in the ceiling of the attic was split badly.

The previous owner was very good at keeping record of any repair or work that had been carried out on the house and I came across and old invoice with photographic evidence that the repair was carried out in 2007 and came with a 10 year warranty.

Now my question is would the warranty still be valid even though I have bought the house and was not the owner at the time of the repair?

The old invoice said it cost £1200 to repair 7 years ago so I'd imagine that it would be even more now if I didn't have the warranty to claim on.

Thanks in advance.

It all depends on whether the warranty was transferable and what action was needed to transfer it to the new house owners and whether that was done.

And if the supplier is still trading...
