TIMETOFACETHEMUSIC huge congratulations on having paid off your mortgage, we paid ours off when he who knows was made redundant in the 90s and the feeling of walking through your own front door with the deeds to the house in your hand is something I'll never forger, well done both of you and the celebrtion is more than justified, enjoy, Lyn xxx.0

Tru I hope Jo Chick is ok.
TTFTM congratulations on being mortgage-free. It's a grand feeling, isn't it? I paid off Mr LW's mortgage for him with my share of the proceeds of the house sale after I divorced the Ex, on the understanding my name would be added to the title deeds with his. Bubbly stuff l/o from Xmas is still bubbly stuff, and imho doubly satisfying if you haven't had to go out specially to buy it!;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hello all,
It's been a busy day for me, I was blanching lots of veg I got free from Morries yesterday when DD2 phoned to say DGD2 has S&D and could I help. Went down there and cut her huge lawns before rain is expected later, vacuumed through, cleaned her cooker, washed the floors and wiped down the cupboards. I took my new window vac and did the windows inside and out, she has a bungalow so no ladders needed.
Came home and chopped 12lbs of onions portioned them up and popped into the freezer. I made 20lbs of chilli y/day so need to do the same after taking some out for dinner. I've 6 cauliflowers to tackle next but thought I'd sit down for 5 mns and pop on here.
TTFTM, Well done you deserve some bubbles!
Must get a move on as I have a dental appointment at 3.45. Arrgghhhh !!
JUDI, hope all goes well.0 -
Afternoon all,
overcast and misty here today, Mossy had to be dragged out this morning, long time since last night, wouldnt mind his bladder control myself!
We had ahuge brunch around 12 so doubt there will be a big dinner this evening, might make some soup to have with bread which is proving.
DS3 has gone to collect the lady's chair the family bought me for my birthday....hugely expensive but they insisted, looking forward to it, not sure what will leave living room to make way for it, might just squash it in and move things around a bit for a few days.
Congratulations to Jackies Holly , enjoy your celebrations.
Dinner will be a snack of some kind, not sure what yet, but we had a huge brunch earlier so wont be up for much.
Enjoy the rest of Frday everyone, and stay safe

Hi chums just got home from Dds and boy is it a scorcher today I am hoping it will cool a little bit by tonight or I will be in the back spare room as my bedroom is at the front and gets very warm. even though I keep the curtains closed during the day.
History club was good and very enlightening. Bit of ironing tonight then feet up and tomorrow I will crack on with the sausage rolls for the 'do'. I make about 5 dozen as a rule and they all seem to vanish, but then there will be 6 grandchildren plus assorted other young folk and their parents about 25-30 all told so they soon go:)
Right off to have some dinner I think
cheers chums

You lucky southerners. It's rained so hard here in the North West that I had trouble seeing out of my windows.
Our mortgage was paid off when I was widowed, but despite the circumstances there was a certain satisfaction knowing that we had planned well and our son's future was secure. Master Cranky and myself have recently downsized from "Faulty Towers" to a normal house thank goodness.0 -
Lovely to see you popping in Cranky, how are you and "trouble"?
Hi everyone, been for a long walk around Harrogate today, Skye has been snoozing ever since, got back just before the heavy rain started. Just having a chilling evening.
Take care everyone. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -

We're fine thanks. In a normal sized three bed house now, with a decent sized garden and two badly behaved cats. We only moved a month ago so I still have lots of things to put away or find homes for. I did give most of the stuff from the big house away before we moved though. It wouldn't have all fitted in here :rotfl:0
