Majestic Wine: utter idiots

There's a branch of Majestic Wine at the end of my road. Literally at the end of my road. I like a nice tipple so I use Majestic frequently, and have done so for many years. Or, more accurately, I did use it frequently.
A few weeks ago, Flashpark signs appeared in the car park. So I wrote to Steve Lewis, CEO, stating my policy of not doing business with anyone who engages a PPC, and inviting him to check their records as to how much the loss of my custom is going to cost them (anyone who has been to Majestic knows that they ask for name and postcode at the till, so they certainly know how many thousands I've spent there).
Got a reply full of flannel from some minion, the long-and-short of which was basically "get lost".
So I will. I've replied to him, cc Steve Lewis, confirming my status as an ex-customer.
Is it me or has the world gone mad?

Would you normally park there and shop elsewhere or would you only use their car park when shopping there? As a customer it will be beneficial to you to be able to get a space without everyone else parking there and going elsewhere.0

1. I've been shopping there for many years and I've never had a problem parking. There simply is no problem to solve.
2. That is in any case beside the point. As a matter of principle I will not shop anywhere that is prepared to engage Costas Constantinou or his ilk.Je suis Charlie.0 -
Incidentally, about half-a-mile the other direction is a private road where Flashpark signs have just gone up.
Obviously the residents are in for a world of pain when the Norris Coles start dobbing in other residents and their visitors to Flashpark.Je suis Charlie.0 -
Isn't Costas Constantinou the flash idiot that invented the talking parking ticket to amuse his friends?0

Yeah, that's him, a twice-winner of the RAC !!!!!! Turpin award for highway robbery. Now the proprietor of Flashpark.Je suis Charlie.0

I suspect that some shiny suited greaseball from the parking company gave them a spiel about how, using their company, they could double their profits.
How they could free up spaces in which genuine customers could park, and that, for every ticket issued, they would receive a bounty.
I suspect that they will soon find that imbibers of the grape are far more likely to go elsewhere than the mini pizza people who shop in Lidl.
BTW, you do realise I hope that every bottle Blue Nun and Mateus which you purchase adds about £2.00 to the nations coffers and goes straight to dole bludgers and the workshy. My Money Saving tip for you is to buy your Rioja ands Rueda in Spain where wine is taxed at an eye-watering 8p a bottle. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
I don't doubt that's exactly what happened.Je suis Charlie.0

If you've been shopping there for years and never had a problem then why do you care who the get to monitor their car park? It's no skin off your nose at all. Calm down and have a drink.0

Hello. I haven't seen you contribute to this forum previously.
I presume you're fully up to speed with all things PPC, PCN, PoFA 2012, BPA CoP, IPC CoP, POPLA, IAS, EA 2010 and similar issues that affect tens of thousands of motorists and inform such an experienced contributor/expert on this particular forum (and other similar forums elsewhere) as bazster? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Because they will create problems to earn money, no tickets no income, no commission. They will soon have problems.0
